        Dave began his culinary experience over twenty years ago with a background in French food cuisine. Today these skills are used to prepare the finest meals. It is Dave’s down-to-earth cooking that has customers returning daily. It's hard to find a restaurant that will prepare seven layer lasagna, old fashion beef stroganoff, and pot roast from old school cooking. These are just some of the dinner specials you will find at Dave's Cafe'. And of course always leave room for pie! The days of searching for gourmet pies and homemade desserts have fallen to the wayside. Today, most pie shops and bakeries use canned or frozen substitute fillings to prepare their desserts. Maybe a sugar filled swill pie, cookie or bar will satisfy the consumer who believes these bake shops provide good products. Dave “the Pie Guy” uses the freshest and finest ingredients available. No canned products or preservatives, only real apples, berries, nuts, butter and cream along with fine chocolate. Dave has been making pies for over twenty years and has perfected a pie crust that is hard to beat. In 2011, he competed in his first baking contest and took home a ribbon in the Ghirardelli chocolate championships with his French silk pie. The next stop was the American Pie Council (APC), where Dave walked away with a blue ribbon for his streusel apple pie. Competition is in his blood, but creating fine desserts is a passion that carries him toward success. Dave fully believes the words of a great chef he once worked for, “There are no secrets to great cooking, it's taking the freshest and finest ingredients you can find and the rest is up to you.”
